Ppbio

Created in 2004, the biodiversity research program, PPBio aims to enhance biodiversity studies in Brazil, decentralize the scientific production of the centers developed academically, integrate research and disseminate the results for different purposes, such as environmental management and education. It is structured in three main component: Inventories, Collections and Themes and has several regional nuclei and Project Partners across the country.

GEOMA

The network is the first Geoma research network of the Ministry of science and technology integrates 6 research units of this Ministry, and three based in the northern region: Instituto Nacional de pesquisa da Amazônia-INPA/Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi AM-MPEG/PA and Mamirauá Sustainable Development Institute – IDSM/AM and three in Southeast: National Institute for space research-INPE , Institute of pure and Applied Mathematics-IMPA and national laboratory for scientific computing-LNCC.

The goal of this network is to develop computational models capable of predicting the dynamics of ecological and socio-economic systems at different geographical scales, within the concept of sustainability; assist in decision-making in local, regional and national levels, by providing simulation and modeling tools and contribute to the formation of human resources in master's and doctoral levels. Learn more.
